Chapter # 223

2010

        SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN OF VETERANS WHO SERVED 

        IN THE MILITARY BETWEEN JANUARY 1ST, 1961 AND MAY 7TH, 1975 AT ANY LOCATION IN THE WORLD.

There will be two $1,000 Scholarships given. The check will be made out to the student.

To be eligible applicant must be graduating from High School and have been accepted to a four-year college, a Junior College or an approved vocational training program. Students presently enrolled in a Junior College or State College or University working toward a degree also may apply.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

PARENT: Proof that a parent or grand parent is a Veteran who served between January 1st 1961 & May 7th 1975. (Military Discharge Form-DD214) 

STUDENT: 1. Must have maintained no less than a “C” average in academics.

                    2. No failing grade in any given subject.

                    3. Planned academic year in the fall.

                    4. Five hundred-word essay.

Application for these scholarships MUST BE received by April 15, 2010.

 Awards ceremony will be in May of the given year at VVA, Chapter 223’s monthly General meeting (7:00 pm) at the Santa Rosa Veterans Building. This meeting is on the third Tuesday of each month in the Lodge Room.
